Did you know we could dance?
I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. But, just so you know, I didn't make it. Gina sent it to us with me, Brian, Braxton and Amy. I hope I can make it work.
Merry Christmas!

It's Over, and some people missed it.
Just like the good time we had at thanksgiving, a good TV show is similar. Sometimes you get to enjoy the whole thing, Sometimes people tell you what you missed, Sometimes you cannot be there at the time, and sometimes you just wonder what it was like.
Did you ever miss an episode of "Dancing with the Stars"? Did you see the Artery burst on this weeks episode of Grey's Anatomy"? Do you want to check out the show "Samantha Who?"?
We cannot replay Thanksgiving day (One story I wish never was told at all), but you can check out many of the episodes for ABC at http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing.
Thanks to EVERYONE that came over for the day, and the help and food. It made the big feast seem like a simple afternoon. Sue put her feet up, and before she new it, the carpet is rolled up, Chairs and Tables stacked ready to be returned to Les, and the cars were parked back in the garage, like no one was ever there.
Thanks again.

Fun Pictures

I thought it would be fun to share some pictures with you. Brian and I along with Kelsey and Ashley went to Washington DC over the long weekend since the kids were out of school for UEA. We did some neat stuff that was really interesting. Two are from the US Capitol Building. We are standing in front of a statue of Brigham Young. It is one of two statues that each state is allowed to display at the capitol. The other statue Utah has is Filo T Farnsworth, but I'm not sure why he is there for Utah. I thought he was an Idaho guy! I also wanted to show you our cute kids from Halloween. Jean

THANKSGIVING DINNER ASSIGNMENTS
I'm finally getting around to thinking about Thanksgiving dinner! FIRST AND FOREMOST....everyone has to keep an open mind!!!!! I figure there is going to be about 47 people here. We are going to heat the garage and eat out there. Before anyone freaks out, my garage is pretty clean for a garage. It is all sheet rocked and painted and I'm looking into getting the floor done. We have got enough banquet tables to seat everyone. Dad is bringing all his folding chairs. He has about 25 of them and I think I will put him in charge of finding enough for everyone!
MOM - I put her in charge of making HOMEMADE rolls.....yum
NIKKI - pistachio pudding salad and some kind of a pecan pie.
ANDY & SUE - Turkey, Sweet potatoes (Candied Yams), Mashed potatoes & gravy, Sliced Green Beans, Cranberries. Plates, utensils, cups, napkins....ya know...all that kind of stuff.
JEAN - Ham, Stuffing & green olives! Vegi Tray, with Black Olives.
SANDY - Shrimp salad
LORINDA - Fruit Salad, Fruit Pies, & Chocolate Cream Pies.
KATIE - Pumpkin Pie, (Made fresh).
Here are some other things we might want. If you can think of anything more, add it to the list.
beverage (do we want something other than ice water?)
I think this about covers it. Remember if there is something that one of the "in-laws" have for their usual tradition, bring it! I will never forget Rins first experience of having Thanksgiving dinner away from home and not having the fruit salad with the whip cream on the top!!!!! Sometimes things just have to be a certain way!!!!! That's why I assigned Brian the 'GREEN OLIVES' !!!!!!!
Love you all and look forward to a fun day.

Brandon's Wedding Date Set
Brandon & Ashley's wedding date is set for Thursday, January 31st. It will be in the evening, so hopefully everyone will still be able to make it on a Thursday. We'll let you know more details later.
Sue, have you heard anything on the hotel situation yet for Thanksgiving? Also, do you have assignments for dinner ready for us? I found a yummy sausage recipe for stuffing that my family really liked last year. I could do that if you want or whatever else you need. I'm excited! It will be fun to be together for Thanksgiving!

Do you have any food allergies?
Tyler (Kara's daughter) woke up yesterday with a rash. The Dr. says it is hives probably caused by a food allergy. Today she is one solid hive. She has also been throwing up randomly for the past month, which the Dr. said could also be related to the hives.
Does your family have any allergies, or similar experiences? ( This is about as exciting as it gets here. Can you see why I don't post more often?)

What is happening in the rest of the world:

The Blogosphere is exploding- like a self-replicating supervirus bursting with mundane observations, bad poetry, and generously misrepresentative photos. Never have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few.
"What can be done to stop it?", everyone is asking, the alarm clearly palpable on their faces.
These shirts are being seen everywhere, but don't take it personally, it wasn't meant for our Clark Family Blog!

Family Reunion
Okay, so here's the scoop on the family reunion. We're going to meet at mom and dad's house in Menan on Friday, Sept 7th. We had all the activities planned before, so we really want to do all the same stuff. Let's plan on meeting Friday night for dinner at 6:00pm. We'll start our campfire activities by about 7:30. Don't forget to have your family talent ready. Bring tents or whatever you need to sleep. Sue has also opened her house for anyone who wants to go there. We'll meet back at mom and dad's at 8:00 in the morning for breakfast then start our activities by 9:30. We'll have lunch, more activities, then dinner. After that everyone is free to do what they want.
Don't forget to bring art supplies to share. If you have any fold up tables, bring them. Bring folding chairs for your family.
Fri dinner - Sue
Breakfast - Mom & Dad
Lunch - Sandy
Dinner -
Sandy, and Lorinda do you want to decide which meal you do? I will bring paper products. Everyone can bring treats to share.
Let's try to get a count of how many will be coming. Just leave a message on the blog.
I hope this works out for everyone.
PS. Jennifer & Shawn left a blog under this, so make sure you read it.

Family Reunion
Sorry everyone for being so flakey about the family reunion. Things have been so crazy since we had to take most of a week off work to be with Brian's family and now trying to play catch up. As for the Aug 24th date -- two of my kids wouldn't be able to go and I talked to Sandy and she said Scott wouldn't be able to go either. I've also been stressed about going that week because things are so crazy at work.
We talked to our friend with the cabin the other day. He is checking to see if it would be available for the weekend of Sept 7th. If that works for everyone, maybe we can plan for then. If the cabin doesn't work out, maybe we could even meet in Idaho Falls somewhere. Does anyone have any other ideas for a weekend in September? We couldn't do the 14th or 21st since those are the days Jennifer is planning to go to the temple.
Hopefully we can still work it out to make this happen. I'll talk to everyone soon.
Love Jean

More Details For Family Reunion
Hi everyone! I know everyone is anxious for details on the family reunion. I'll tell you all I know so far. If anyone has any other specific questions, either call, or leave a comment for the blog.
The cabin is 8 miles before West Yellowstone. It is about 5 miles off the highway right on Hebgen Lake. I don't have exact directions, but as soon as I do I'll let you know. We're going to meet at the cabin on Friday, Aug 3rd for lunch at noon. Sandy's family will be doing lunch.
Kelsey has some fun activities set up that will be great for family togetherness. For one of the activities we'll need art supplies like markers, paints, crayons etc. If everyone can bring a bunch of stuff that we can all share it would be great!
Sue's family will be doing dinner for Friday night.
Now for the most exciting part!!! After dinner on Friday night we're going to have a family talent night. Everyone needs to participate. It would be fun if each individual family would have something prepared. It can be serious or not so serious, it's up to you. It will be fun to see what each family comes up with! Sue, do you mind doing dessert for your dinner and serving it after the talent night? I had thought about doing s'mores, but there is a no open fire policy right now, so we can't have a fire.
Everyone will need to bring their own bedding for sleeping. If you have a tent or camper you can bring, that's great. There will be beds in the cabin we can throw our sleeping bags on, I'm just not sure how many. We can also throw sleeping bags out on the floors wherever there is room.
In the morning, mom and dad are doing breakfast. Kelsey has more activities planned and then Lorinda's family will be doing lunch. After lunch, that will be the end of the planned activities. We can stay and visit longer, the guys can go fishing, you can go home or whatever we want for the rest of the day. Brian and Jean's family will be staying at the cabin until Sunday morning. Anyone who wants to stay until then, you can, we just won't have food or anything planned for extras.
There is a gas grill there that we can use, and a full kitchen of equipment. If you need something special to prepare your meal, you might want to bring it just to be safe. If you have any fold up tables, it may be nice to have them. We have 3 we're bringing. Also, bring camp chairs for your family. How about if we each bring what tablecloths we have. Let's each bring our own beverages that your family will want during the stay.
Since Brian and I aren't doing a meal, we'll bring all the paper products we'll need.
We've been told that the lake is really low right now because of the dry season and they've had to drain some of the water for the farmers to use. There is a place to swim and fish on the lake right at the cabin. Since it's so dry, they said it is really dusty and dirty. This is our friend's cabin, so we just need to be respectful and make sure we take good care of it and leave it as nice and clean as we find it.
We're really excited about getting together. It will be so fun for all of us to spend time together! If you can think of any other details that we all need to know, speak up. We'll see you all soon.

Date and place set for family reunion
Hi everyone!
The Les Clark Family reunion is set for Aug. 3rd and 4th, from noon until noon, at Island Park. I hope this will work for everyone. If you want to come early or stay late is up to you, but the organized reunion will be only this time frame. Jean and Brian have access to a friends cabin which is on Henry's Lake. We will use this as our meeting spot. There is room for some to stay in the cabin, but if you want to sleep in your tent or RV that is great. Let's coordinate that on this blog.
Jean's family is in charge of the activities. Kelsey has graciously consented to organizing them. She has some amazing things lined up for us to do. I am SOOOO excited!
We will have lunch and dinner together on Fri. and breakfast and lunch together on Sat. If Mom and Dad take one, Lorinda one, Sue one, and Sandy one, the meals will be taken care of. Let's say that your choice of the meal your family is in charge of, is first come first serve. (Mom and Dad have spoken to do breakfast). You can do anything you want, and have any members of your individual families help with it. Let me know if this is agreeable to each of you. If you have a better idea, let your voice be heard.
I have been in touch with Gary as they have the longest distances to travel and regret that they will be unable to make it. I hope this works out for everyone else.
Changing the subject. I have invited the family members that I have e-mail addresses for to become team members on this blog. This allows you to publish posts. You should have received an e-mail which will tell you how to get set up. All others PLEASE send me your e-mail addresses and I will add you as a team member also.
I talked to Mom and Dad and told them what we were doing. Since they don't have the Internet, I thought that if anyone adds a post that they could print it on paper and send it to them so they can also be a part of this.
I hope our whole family will get involved in this and we can each share the events of our lives with each other!
I love you all,
Lorinda

Family Reunion
While visiting after Ashley's baptism, we decided that a family blog would be a good, fun and easy way to keep in touch with each other. This is the first blog I have ever created so please be understanding. Maybe some of you younger family members with more technical experience than me can help me out.
I would like this to be an open forum between all of the Les Clark Family.
We want to put together a one day overnighter family reunion this summer (maybe like a friday from noon until Sat. noon.) Plans and dates are pending, but we have some ideas that will bring us together as a family and be lots of fun at the same time. We will give you more details as they unfold. Look at your calanders and see if this is a posiblity for your family. The only cost involved will be our meals, and the expense of getting to the location.
I hope this blog can be fun and keep us in touch with what is happening in each of our lives.
Love, Lorinda
